The new moon in Scorpio and Rosh Hodesh Heshvan are bringing us a clear message: create light through the darkness.
If we recharged like a battery all our energy for the year last month of Tishrei, we can feel going down the road this month, confronting a lot of obstacles. Scorpio bring us as well a deep emotional aspect that can make us feel overwhelmed and kind of lost. But thanks to the energy that we just got from Tishrei we are overcoming it all, and even understanding that it is thanks to those obstacles that we get stronger to become who we are. That is also why you can get this month very busy with amazing professional opportunities coming to you! Don’t miss them, draw yours strength from within, from your last intention (כוונה - literally means direction) of the new year that just began.
In Kabbalah, if you take the first and last letter of this month חשון - חן you get the gematria (numeric value of the letters) of 58. If we count from the first day of the creation, the 58th day is the day Hachem makes the covenant with the people, just after the Mabul - the Great Flood, that he won’t destroy all living things, with the rainbow as the symbol of this covenant.
Indeed, this month is a month of water, physically with the rain, which is a blessing to the land, and spiritually with many energies and symbols, such as the Scorpio which is a water sign. Water element means in astrology deep and intense emotional world. Water is also a purifying element, like the rain is the divine blessing coming down on us, and in physics water has the magical property of capturing the information (vibrations that shapes the matter, water stays shapeless), we call it the water memory, that is why it is the Mercury of the alchemists, the great communicator. But Scorpio is ruled by another planet: Mars, which is not about communication, but about power (actionable power), war and anger, and therefore we have here to chose rather to use this power to build or to destroy (better to build “over the rainbow”🎶).
But building up this month will be hard as we saw, we are going down the road, but that is precisely what will give us the power to go as up as we can. We can see that through the energy of the Hebrew letters of the month. In Kabbalah, each month is influenced by certain frequencies, from the 22 frequencies that created the world: the 22 Hebrew letters! Frequencies are the measurement of vibrations, and vibrations are waves of information shaping the matter. If you take a vibrating plate with sand and make the plate vibrates at the frequency of a Hebrew letter, the shape of the letter itself will drawn itself into the sand. This is because vibrations shape the matter, and the Hebrew letters are pure frequencies. This month we have 2 letters: Daleth ד, which comes to tell us that something is missing within us, pushing us to take action to become full again. We can take the metaphor of a worker with an empty stomach working vs. a worked that just ate a big meal and is full. The worker with the not full stomach will be more motivated and work better obviously. Then we have Noun נ or even Noun sofit ן, which is the only letter that goes beyond the line, it goes the lowest. Those two letters symbolize well the energy of this going down, working hard, but only to go up again, just like a yin and yong symbol.
To finish with, each month in Kabbalah we have a sense that is related, and this month is about the smell. We see that even during the event of the Great Flood, Hachem smelled the good smell of Noah’s sacrifices. Smell also calls to our intuition. In Latin French, to feel and to smell are the exact same word, and the alchemist language of the birds teaches us that this is not by chance. To smell is subtle and it invites us to focus on how we feel, to listen to our inner-self interacting with the outside world. With this Scorpio emotional season, it will be intense, it’s a great opportunity to feel deeply and develop our intuition. Also it is a great opportunity to take the time to smell, not to react to it directly, to take a pause, as this pause can be the little space within us needed for the creation, just like Hashem created a space within him to create this world. A little pause to be curious and observe what is going us within us while we are being triggered by something from our environment. Reacting directly to our emotions is like being the slave of them, not understanding them, not being the masters of ourselves. This pause is one key for this destruction vs creation we talked about. This outer - inner worlds relationship is another key to go up the road in every aspect of our lives (professional, personal, with our couple, family, friends). It’s a challenge to get to know ourselves better in this specific dimension, and to become masters of this amazing incarnation, to be our full potentials and let ourselves follow the current of our life’s mission. It’s impossible to control the path of a current, we can have the illusion of stopping it or making it take another path, but that’s only temporary. Mastering this incarnation is a balance between letting yourself go through this current, and making the best out of all the things (people, places, adventures) you will meet along the way.
