SIVAN - The Month of Revelation and Integration

Updated: May 26

This study is dedicated to the elevation of the soul of Claude Bernard Lévy ben Simone.

Sivan: The Month of Revelation and Integration

Sivan, the third month of the Hebrew calendar, completes the transformative journey that began in Nissan with Passover when we freed ourselves from all kinds of slavery, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

After gaining freedom, we ask: what will I do with it? Iyar is the month of commitment, where we begin to refine our character through the Omer counting.

Sivan arrives when we’re finally ready to receive—with gratitude, clarity, and humility. We made ourselves a pure empty recipient.

It’s the month of Shavuot, when we stood as one at Sinai to receive the Torah.

Letter of the Month:

Zayin (ז)

Zayin is the seventh letter of the Hebrew alphabet, mirroring the spiritual structure of seven—completion, Shabbat, and covenant. Its shape resembles a crowned Vav, hinting at elevation: from simple connection (ו) to conscious sovereignty (ז).

The root of Zayin shares meaning with zan—sustenance. It reminds us that true nourishment comes not just from physical food, but from spiritual alignment. It teaches us to elevate the mundane, to crown our daily actions with intention.

Vav is the bridge, between us and others, between one step to the other, between earth and heavens, between the physical and the spiritual… How to crown with humility, dignity, devotion, those connections? To make them divinely fertile? To bring divine meaning?

Practice: Ask yourself: How can I bring holiness, higher meaning, into my daily habits? Meditate on the shape of the letter Zayin and journal one area of your life you’re ready to crown with meaning.

Organ of the Month:

Left Foot

Sivan is associated with the left foot, symbol of grounded movement and embodied wisdom. While the right foot initiates, the left stabilizes and follows through—reminding us that real growth requires consistency.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the left side of the body is linked to yin energy—receptive, intuitive, inner guidance. The liver meridian, which begins at the left foot, is tied to planning and decision-making. When blocked, it can cause frustration or stagnation.

Practice: Care for your feet and lower body. Try self-massage or grounding postures. Walk barefoot on the earth and ask: Where do I need to bring more flow, more follow-through, more faith in the steps I take?

Sense of the Month:

Walking

Sivan’s sense is walking—a perfect metaphor for this phase of the spiritual journey. After thought (Iyar), comes movement. We don’t just think our way through life—we walk it.

Walking is also a tool for clarity. When we feel stuck or unsure, motion reawakens intuition. Like water, the minds becomes stagnant, when it doesn’t move, flow.

Practice: When faced with a choice or confusion, go for a walk. First, attune to your senses: feel the air, notice the sounds, the rhythm of your steps, the gravity pulling your feet to the earth. Then, bring your question to mind. Ask aloud. Let thoughts flow without forcing. Clarity often arrives mid-step, mid-breath.

Mazal of the Month:

Gemini (Teomim)

The astrological sign of Sivan is Gemini (Teomim)—the twins. It represents duality: body and soul, giving and receiving, divine and human. But rather than choosing one, Gemini teaches us to integrate both.

This energy invites dialogue, flexibility, and harmony between seeming opposites. It’s the perfect reflection of Shavuot, where Heaven meets Earth, seeing the infinite within our finite world.

Practice: Explore your own inner dualities. Journal or speak aloud. Embrace conversations that stretch you, and see communication as a sacred bridge.

May this study enlighten your path and bring unity and peace to all.
