This is a deep dive into myself that I'm sharing with you, with the intention to move you, to encourage each one of us to pause and think for a minute: what are my core values?
Why is it important to take the time to think about that? Well, because it allows us to prioritize, to think of what is really important to us, to take our responsibility and make better choices for our lives. Those values anchor us, they are like a compass.
We can think about the concept of values itself, if it is supposed to be subjective or objective, at which scale we can think of values: individually, for a family, a community, a country, the whole human kind? For this post, I humbly and simply thought of what sounds right to me. I tried to be precise and honest in my wording.
As we are social beings, those values are most important as we engage socially, especially with romantic relationships as the person in front of us, that we are attracted to for divine reasons, will mirror us, trigger us, which is a magical opportunity to understand who we are. But if we wish to build something, a relationship of any kind, love and kindness are not everything, our values are often taken for granted culturally, while talking about it to see what are actually our sharing values is fundamental and crucial.
So here are the 5 values I came up with:
Truth
Truth, in the sense of what is felt as right and harmonious.
It is the love and the search for the truth,
the will and taste of seeking for and speaking the right word,
to be open and ready to change your mind and behavior for the sake of this truth,
in order to always,
as much as possible,
at each second,
remain aligned with what seems right and harmonious.
It is linked to the concepts of openness and flexibility of the mind,
to curiosity,
to love and the art of living,
the sensitivity of what is justice and harmony,
and the appreciation - our capacity of estimating the value,
of everything and anything,
especially the simplicity.
Respect
Respect, towards yourself,
towards your neighbour,
towards the vegetal, the animal and mineral kingdoms,
through our intentions,
our words,
our self talk,
our actions...
A concept linked to the idea of benevolence,
tolerance,
and forgiveness.
Faith
Faith, a connection between materiality and spirituality,
to see beyond what we see,
the intelligence and not only the intellect,
the intuition,
to prove again and again like a muscle our trust to the divine organization of the life and our potential,
our loyalty to our intuition and essence,
and above all our gratitude, the art of giving a meaning to life.
Courage
Courage, taking responsibility for being an actor in your life,
being active,
being aware,
actively raising awareness,
creating,
making choices,
taking responsibility of being happy,
getting up,
continuing to move forward ,
always in motion,
to express ourselves,
to love entirely
to love totally.
Sharing
Sharing, the desire to share one's light,
to help,
to bring our stone to the edifice,
to proliferate and allow a soul to incarnate,
to transmit,
to feel that everything is one,
that we have a role to play,
with humility.
And to finish with, I'd say...
That being honest,
patient
and sincere
in our communication,
in our interactions,
that is the common ground,
the base,
the space
for these values to exist
and express themselves
into our reality.
